Greenbrier Farms, Inc. was established in 1916 and was the largest wholesale landscape nursery in the world, and it was renowned, far and wide; for the many introductions of newly cultivated varieties of plants that were eventually developed there. Around 1973-4 the nursery operation was relocated in stages to several land parcels in the Hickory section of Chesapeake, the businesses' main office was moved into a large farmhouse that stood on the property.

Today, the new 'Greenbrier Farms Nursery’ is the direct successor to the original Greenbrier Farms legacy. 'Greenbrier Farms Nursery’ will, in fact, be operated from the same, circa-1970s farm as its predecessor.Our location, phone number, and fax number remain the same. We currently have 500+ acres under production with quality trees and shrubs.  Additionally, we have 12 acres of greenhouses for our container grown plants.
